DIY OUTDOOR CAT ENCLOSURE

I've noticed a number of times cats have gone missing. I made this pen for our cat so she can enjoy the outdoors and don't worry about her getting lost. When we're home we open the rec-room window and she can come and go as she pleases. The cost is less than $150 and is 6(w)x8(L)x4(H). We have no complaints of our cat using anyone's flower bed as a litter box.

MICROCHIP YOUR PET

Micro-chipping has become a very popular and safe way to permanently identify your pet and you as the owner. Micro-chipping involves placement of a small electronic chip the size and shape of a piece of rice just under the skin in the neck area. A needle is used to inject the chip. The injection is comparable to a regular vaccine injection.

If your pet becomes lost and is transported to a humane society or another vet clinic, the humane society will be able to scan your pet for the chip and contact you. It is very important that you keep your personal information associated with your pet’s microchip up-to-date to ensure that this system works as it should. You will also be asked to provide emergency contact information in the event that you are not available.

We advise you to use this system of identification as well as a collar identification system on your pet, as collars can easily become lost. Please make sure your pet is scanned during the annual check up to assure the chip is in place. Update your records due to change of address or ownership.
